So you think ice-fishing is kinda the real and coolest winter fishing thing, eh.?. Well, that`s what i thought, too. At least until today! And maybe it`s still true when you live in some remote areas in Finland. Ice fishing right here in the middle of the town really sucks!

Why?

First of all there are no fish! This is where continous readers might ask if i don`t get used to this with time. Of course i do - i run a fishing blog with a category “no fish at all” smart ass!

Much more annoying then the absence of fish are all those pedestrian with their shitload of funny questions … uhm, i still don`t get their kind of humor. “Are you fishing?” “No ma`m we come from planet Mickey Mouse and search for oil. Can you help us?”

It seems that Winter finally came to town last night. Temperatures are dropping down to -10°C and everything is covered in the finest powder. Next time: Ice fishing!

Being pretty busy these days fishing time was short today. Just spent an hour or two on the local pond in search for some lunker perch. Well got 2 or 3 nice 30s and about a dozens 20s which is pretty ok for this water.

As summer seems to be back in town for the weekend i spent a few our on my home-water floattube fishing for perch. As fall is aproaching they get larger in numbers and size though the real lunkers still seem to be hiding in some secret parallel universe. Got 2 nice 30s and stinky baby pike on Comic Craws on the t-rig which has really become my favourite rig for fishing those tiny bastards, Venus or Chronos.

When we designed our Venus Lures about 2 years ago we were looking for a very special lure to be rigged dropshot for some serious Perch fishing action. Since i`m not really into this lame dropshot thing the whole lot of my Venus lures spent a rather boring life in my tacklebox being fished just once in a while. But in one of my many lunatic moments i had the idea to try those little cuties on a texas-rig. Curious guy i am i packed up some Lures, a size 2 hook and some bullet weights and headed for banks. What can i say … i must have been blind!!! Venus are just perfect on the t-rig when fishing for Perch!
